Résumé This Decision, as in accordance with the provisions of the national Law on nature protection, established that dinosaur fossils, present on 24 (twenty-four) sites located on the territory of the Republic of Croatia, are significant due to their rarity, size, appearance, educational and scientific significance, and are declared protected parts of nature. It is forbidden to destroy protected dinosaur fossils and to carry out interventions and/or actions that may lead to damage to such protected dinosaur fossils and related sites. Protected dinosaur fossils are kept at the site of their original finding (in situ), and if it is not possible to protect them at the site, with the permission of the ministry responsible for nature protection, they are given for safekeeping to a legal or natural person who will provide their professional protection (ex situ protection or conservation). Protected dinosaur fossils and their sites are managed by locally competent public institutions for the management of protected areas and/or other protected parts of nature.
