This Act shall enter into force eight days after the publication.
Résumé

Part 1 contains interpretations and defines the application sphere of this Act. Part 2 provides for measures related to the prevention of animal diseases, including various measures that will be taken in case of discovering the existence of infectious diseases. It concerns the vaccination, animal testing and marking, safety control of animal foodstuffs, keeping of animals, transportation of animals, destruction of animal carcasses and by-products, etc. The Act establishes duties of animal owners prescribing further rules that shall be taken in the case of manifestation of diseases. Part 3 regulates duties and powers of competent veterinary authorities and contains the list of public veterinary services. Part 4 sets out conditions for the financing issues related to animal protection. Part 5 outlines the responsibilities and powers of inspectors. The remaining provisions of this Act concern offences and transitional provisions.
