It sets out procedures for the ascertaining that the disease exists on premises and gives powers to a veterinary inspector to declare a premises to be an infected premises. The Minister may declare a temporary movement restriction zone or a controlled zone of such size as the Minister considers necessary to reduce the risk of spread of African horse sickness virus. The Order also concerns (restrictions on) vaccination of horses. When a vaccination zone has been declared, any occupier of premises inside that zone must ensure the vaccination of horses on their premises in accordance with that declaration.
