A person shall not operate a hatchery for the sale of baby chicks to farmers without a licence. An application for a licence shall be made to the nearest inspecting officer in the approved form. The Rules also concern construction and (hygienic) maintenance and operation of hatcheries and inspections. Sale of any poultry, baby chicks or eggs from a hatchery which is infected with a notifiable disease is prohibited.
