Résumé The purpose of this Act is to prevent as far as possible the social and individual harms caused by alcohol consumption, including by limiting the consumption of alcoholic beverages. It applies to imports, exports, and sale of alcoholic beverages in Norway. The Act creates a monopoly on the sale of beverages with an alcohol content higher than 4.7 %, which can only be sold by the government-owned company Vinmonopolet (The Wine Monopoly). Furthermore, it prohibits all kinds of advertising of alcoholic products. The provisions of the Act are divided into the following Chapters: 1. General provisions; 2. Import and export; 3.
