Résumé This Act aims at a strong and balanced development of fish breeding activities along the coast of Norway. It applies to breeding for commercial purposes of fish species specified in section 2: "echinodermata" (sea urchins, starfish, sea cucumbers, brittel stars), molluscs, and shellfish. Breeding requires a permit from the Department of Fisheries in accordance with section 3. The permit shall be valid for a specified area only. Section 6 protects harvesting rights of permit holders. The Department may cancel or modify permits for reasons outlined in section 9, which include reasons of biological diversity, fighting of fish diseases or environment protection. Remaining provisions (Chapters III,IV, and V) concern control, charges, and infringements.
