The Act enters into force upon notification in the Official Gazette.

Resumen

The Act further amends the Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972. After Chapter IVA thereof, a new Chapter is being added and is entitled “Chapter IVB”. Its definitions and provisions define the establishment of the National Tiger Conservation Authority, which consists of a Steering Committee constituted by the Central Government to exercise the powers conferred on, and to perform the functions assigned to it under this Act. The National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) shall evaluate, assess and manage conservation plans for the safeguard of all sustainable ecology put at risk by unsustainable land use, mining and other industry projects within the tiger reserves. Normative standards also ensure guidelines for tiger protection in established buffer areas of tiger reserves - facilitating and supporting tiger reserve management in the State of biodiversity conservation initiatives through eco-development in adjoining areas consistent with the Central and State laws. A Fund (Tiger Conservation Authority Fund) shall constituted to financially support the NTCA in such initiatives and their related costs.
