Resumen

The present Law lays down provisions relating to the protection of nature and landscape in the Land of Saxony. To conserve the environment for future generations, nature and its landscape, being the living space of human beings, shall be protected in such a way as to secure in the long run its integrity, capability of regeneration and sustainable use, as well as to ensure the conservation of flora and fauna, including its beauty and recreation value. The present Law consists of 56 articles divided into 12 Parts as follows: General provisions (I); Landscape planning (II); General protection of nature and landscape (III); Protection, care and development of certain parts of nature and landscape (IV); Protection and care of wild flora and fauna (protection of habitats and species) (V); Recreation in free nature and landscape (6); Pre-emptive rights, expropriation, and compensation in hardship cases (7); Organization, competence, proceedings (8); Nature associations (9); Penalties (10); Transitional and final provisions (11).
