Resumen

It is prohibited to Russian vessels to fish in the economic zone and the fishery zone around Jan Mayen, between 12 and 200 nautical miles from the shore. They are however authorized to do so for total allowable catch of 9 075 tons of cod and 2 723 tons of other species as by-catch in the Norwegian economic zone north of 62 degrees between 12 and 200 nautical miles from the shore and as detailed under articles 2-3. This quota may only be fished as by-catch when fishing for cod. Icelandic vessels are authorized to fish 11 299 tons of Norwegian spring spawning herring in the Norwegian economic zone north of 62 degrees and in the fishery zone around Jan Mayen, between 12 and 200 nautical miles from the shore and from 1 January – 30 May. Specific fishing areas around Jan Mayen are also open to fishing activities (listed under article 4). Fishing with meshed trawls and fishing for greater silver smelt and blue whiting with small-meshed trawls is banned in specific areas listed under article 5. When fishing for other species, a maximum of 20% of redfish may be landed. Vessels without an authorized quota for blue whiting can fish for Norwegian spring-spawning herring up to 10% for each catch and 5% by weight on landing. Vessels not having a quota for mackerel can by-catch 10% of mackerel when fishing for blue whiting and Norwegian spring-spawning herring. by weight of each catch and up to 5% by weight on landing. Vessels without quota of Norwegian spring-spawning herring can by-catch up to 10% of Norwegian spring-spawning herring when fishing for blue whiting.
