It consists of 58 sections and is divided into ten Parts. Part 2 provides for the establishment of recreational areas, Part 3 concerns the administration of the Act and provides for the establishment of the Queensland Recreation Areas Management Board, whose functions and powers are regulated under Part 4. Part 5 deals with management plans for recreational areas and Part 6 is dedicated to the powers of authorised officers. Part 7 contains financial provisions for the operation of the Board and Part 8 deals with prohibitions and permits in recreational areas. The Act is completed by two schedules specifying subject matters for regulation and subject matters for by-laws.
