The principal Regulations give effect in Scotland to Council Decision 2000/766/EC concerning certain protection measures with regard to transmissible spongiform encephalopathies and the feeding of animal protein. Regulation 2(2) amends regulation 10(3)(d) in the principal Regulations to delete the words "of the place of destination" where they appear in duplicate in error. Regulation 12(1) of the principal Regulations makes provision for the manufacture of feedingstuffs for farmed animals. Regulation 2(3) of these Regulations amends that regulation to correct an error, by making it clear that, subject to an exception, feedingstuffs containing processed animal protein may not be manufactured in premises which prepare food for farmed animals.
