Resumen The National Programme Mexico Without Hunger 2014-2018 is a sectoral programme which establishes the national strategy to address hunger and social needs of the Mexican population in extreme poverty. It complements the National System for the Crusade Against Hunger established in 2013, and is aligned with the National Development Plan 2013-2018. The NPMWH has the following six objectives: 1) zero hunger from adequate food and nutrition for people in extreme multidimensional poverty and lack of access to food; 2) to reduce chronic and acute child malnutrition and improve the indicators of weight and height of children; 3) to increase food production and income of farmers and small agricultural producers; 4) to minimize post-harvest and food losses during its storage, transport, distribution and marketing; 5) to promote economic development and the employment of the areas with the highest concentration of extreme poverty: and 6) to promote community participation in the eradication of hunger. In addition, the NPMWH has the following three cross-cutting strategies: 1) to create an inclusive and modern government, 2) to democratize productivity, and 3) to introduce gender perspective in all levels of the government."
