The Director shall not approve an application for a permit if conditions set out in regulation 3 have not been met. Those conditions regard, among other things, safety and health conditions of the animals to be kept in captivity. The Director may reject an application if: (a) he is of the opinion that the applicant or the proposed facilities are unsuitable; (b) it is in the interest of good game management not to issue the permit; and (c) the applicant fails to comply with any prescribed condition. Permit holders shall maintain regards in accordance with regulation 8. Regulation 9 concerns the tagging of trophies by a permit holder has been issued with an export permit under the Act to export a trophy from a wild animal kept by him in captivity.
