Sanitary measures to be taken in the farms affected by the disease include, inter alia, the slaughtering of the infected animals, the destruction of the carcasses, the adoption of quarantine measures, the repopulation of the farm, etc. Inspections and analyses must be carried out by qualified personnel of the competent local health authority. With a view to assure the identification of the farms throughout the national territory, the Decree sets up a new system for the collection of the relevant data, based on a declaration to be submitted by the farmers to the health unit. Final provisions concern the modalities for the vaccination of the animals.
