Specific provisions concern product design, separate collection, disposal and transport of collected WEEE, proper treatment and shipments of WEEE. Il also establishes special conditions for protection of health of personnel involved in life cycle of waste from electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), including manufacturers, importers, distributors, consumers and market operators. Manufacturers of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) must in the process of designing thereof must envisage assistance in dismantling and processing of components; and the possibilities of re-utilization and recycling of WEEE, their components and materials. WEEE shall be subject to separate collection by waste management companies. Collection, transport, storage, disposal and recycling of WEEE shall be regulated by contract.
