Resumen This Regulation, consisting of 58 sections divided into five Parts and completed by three Schedules, implements the Fisheries Management Act 1994 by providing specifications on several matters related to aquaculture. In particular, it includes provisions dealing with the following classes of aquaculture permits prescribed for the purposes of section 144 (2) of the Act: (a) a class A permit authorising extensive aquaculture on public water land or land that is the subject of an aquaculture lease, (b) a class B permit authorising intensive aquaculture on public water land or land that is the subject of an aquaculture lease, (c) a class C permit authorising extensive aquaculture to be undertaken otherwise than on public water land or land that is the subject of an aquaculture lease, (d) a class D permit authorising intensive aquaculture to be undertaken otherwise than on public water land or land that is the subject of an aquaculture lease, (e) a class E permit authorising extensive freshwater aquaculture to be undertaken at 2 or more privately owned locations otherwise than on public water land or land that is the subject of an aquaculture lease, (f) a class F permit authorising a person to operate a fish pond, tank or other structure with a view to charging members of the public for the right to fish in the pond, tank or structure, (g) a class G permit authorising experimental aquaculture to be undertaken, (h) a class H permit authorising a fish hatchery to be operated. (2) In this clause, "fish hatchery" means a place where the progeny of fish are produced for the purpose of selling them.
