Resumen

An Act to regulate in details the production and marketing of animal feed. The Act contains at the outset a definition clause relating to various terms therein employed such as "feedstuffs", "additives", "harmful substances", "marketing", "production", "country of the Union", "contracting state", etc. It is illegal to produce animal feed which can be harmful both to humans and animals. Moreover, it is unlawful to use non-authorized additives and other substances. The Federal Minister for Agriculture and Forestry establishes quality requirements of ingredients, admissible additives, maximum contents of certain harmful substances and prescribes requirements relating to production. The importation of feedstuffs is conditioned upon issuance of a Clearance Certificate. Part 2 contains regulations concerning hygienic and other requirements for plant producing feedstuffs. The tasks of surveying authorities are set out in Part 3. Finally, the Act outlines the penalties in case of violations and transitional provisions. The Act consists of 25 articles divided in 4 Parts.
