Resumen

This Act addresses economic impacts of, and otherwise responds to, the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak in the US. It authorizes emergency loans to distressed businesses and provides for tax relief. With respect to health care it provides for emergency measures to strengthen the health care system and to ensure medical supply. The Act expands unemployment benefits to cover more workers, including self-employed and independent contractors. A specified sum is to remain available until expended, to prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus by providing support for agricultural producers impacted by coronavirus, including producers of specialty crops, producers that supply local food systems, including farmers markets, restaurants, and schools, and livestock producers, including dairy producers. Other funds are available for nutrition programs and food inspections. substantial funds are destined for fishermen struggling due to disappearing economic markets caused by the novel coronavirus pandemic. Tribal, subsistence, commercial, and charter fishermen, as well as aquaculture farmers, processors, or other fishery-related businesses, are all eligible for the disaster assistance
