Entry into force notes: This Act shall come into force on such day as may be appointed by order of the Secretary of State, except sections 60 to 62, 65 and 67 which come into force on the day this Act is passed.

Resumen: This Act creates a National Consumer Council to replace the existing consumer protection bodies and in general makes provision for the protection of customers in relation to utility supply and other specified contracts. The Act also contains a power to dissolve the Consumer Council for Water and transfer its functions to the Council established by the Act.
