Resumen These Regulations establish provisions to operate abattoirs, which include granting of authorisations (sects. 2-4) and maintenance. (sects. 5-8). Sections 9 to 13 prescribe veterinarian examination prior to and following slaughter, concerning animal diseases (First and Second Schedule), as well as compliance with the Authority's instructions concerning the consumption of meat. Section 15 prohibits the use of intestines and the like for animal feeding under specified conditions. Sections 17 and 18 establish provisions about the slaughterhouse's organization, including operating time and waste disposal. Sections 18 to 19A provide for delivery of fowls to the abattoirs, cleaning of cages, transport of poultry meat from the abattoir premises and attached veterinary certification. Under sections 20 to 22, the Director may require reports from veterinarians and abattoirs' owners about their activities. Pursuant to sections 23 to 25, the Director may appoint an inspector to supervise the activities of an abattoir. Sections 26 to 28 provide how to undertake proceedings in case of regulations infringement in the abattoir. Sections 29 and 30 make provisions for slaughter of poultry and the sale of poultry meat unless the meat bears a seal or mark. Section 32 establishes that existing abattoirs may be granted with an authorisation under specified circumstances.
