This Act entered into force on 18 September 2009.

Resumen

The aim of this Act is to limit emissions greenhouse gas and other substances in order to improve the protection of the environment and human health. The Act, which is composed of 11 Sections and one Annex, lays down: (1) competences of the National centre for balancing management of emissions; (2) rules of functioning of the National system of balancing system and forecasting of emissions; (3) rules of managing emissions of greenhouse gas and other substances; (4) rules of functioning of the National register of Kyoto units; (5) marketing and management principles of Kyoto units; (6) rules of functioning of the system of the National system of green investment and climate settlement; (7) conditions and rules of common projects in the territory of the Polish Republic; (8) conditions and rules of projects outside the Polish Republic. The Annex specifies the list of greenhouse gases and other substances released into the air, covered by the management system of emissions of greenhouse gas and other substances.
