An importer entering for consumption fish or fish products regulated under this Subpart from any ocean area into the United States, or an exporter exporting or re-exporting such product, must possess a valid trade permit issued under this Subpart by NMFS. Permit holder shall have specified reporting and recordkeeping requirements. Fish and products which are subject to permitting, documentation, reporting, and recordkeeping requirements include (1) Bluefin tuna, (2) Southern bluefin tuna, (3) Frozen bigeye tuna, (4) Swordfish, and (5) Shark fins. NMFS shall monitor the importation of fish or fish products regulated under this Subpart into the United States and may designate ports for such purpose.
