Abstract

The Parties have reached the present agreement in order to create the Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries, whose objectives are the following: (a) coordination of the production and marketing of natural rubber; (b) technical cooperation amongst Members; (c) to bring about fair and stable prices for natural rubber. To achieve the mentioned purposes, the Association shall in particular: (1) elaborate studies of the world rubber position and examine the short and long-term issues relating to the natural rubber industry; (2) encourage research and development in production, marketing and consumption of natural rubber; (3) make recommendations to Members, if it deems it necessary; (4) collaborate with other international organizations, as appropriate. Part E of the agreement refers to membership: the Association is composed of an Assembly, an Executive Committee and a Secretariat. Part F lays down voting rules ( FAO)
