Abstract

The purpose of these Regulations is to prescribe the form of certificate which a Peace Commissioner shall give to a member of the Garda S¡ochána or an authorized person under the Wildlife Act, 1976, who applies to him for a direction to dispose of things seized under the Act before they can be used as evidence in proceedings for an offence under the Act. In any such proceedings the certificate shall, in accordance with section 78 (7) of the Act, be accepted as sufficient evidence of the facts stated in it until the contrary is shown by the defendant.
