In particular, the Regulations lay down provisions relating to waste disposal and waste management. Section 2 establishes that no person shall dispose of: a) remaining waste; b) compostable material; c) recyclables; or d) special waste, except at the appropriate landfill, recycling plant or composting facility approved to accept each of these materials. The Regulations – consisting of 68 sections – deals, inter alia, with the following matters: disposal of waste, remaining waste landfill, landfill design and construction, landfill liner system, composting facilities, in-vessel composting facilities, open windrow composting facilities, compost reporting requirements, recycling plants, The Regulations are completed by 3 Schedules.
