Part 1 contains provisions related to hazardous waste, Part 2 to hazardous recyclables and Part 3 to non-hazardous waste. Each of these Parts contains prescriptions on the safe management and disposal of waste. Under Part 4, if an approval or a registration is required in respect of a waste management facility, excluding an on-site facility, or a hazardous recyclable facility, the Director shall require the applicant for the approval or registration to provide security before operation or reclamation of the facility commences. The Regulation also provides standards for landfills (sect. 37) and requires records of waste management operations to be kept. The Regulation is completed by 4 Schedules.
