They implement provisions of the Act and establish a mechanism and procedure for the listing of waste management activities. They also prescribe the requirements for the disposal of waste to landfill and prescribe general duties of waste generators, transporters and managers. Waste transporters and waste managers must not accept waste that has not been classified in accordance with these Reulations. unless such waste is listed in Schedule 1 to these Regulations. Waste for landfill must be classified in accordance with the National norms and standards for disposal of waste to landfil.
