The present Federal Act enters into force on 1 January 1990.
Abstract

The present Act regulates the experimentation on living animals to reduce the number of animal subject to vivisection and to promote methods to replace such practice. The text consists of 21 articles divided into 9 Parts as follows: Subject (I); Conditions for carrying out animal experimentations (II); Carrying out animal experimentations (III); Monitoring animal experimentations (IV); Register of animal experimentations (V); Promotion of substitute methods (VI); Penalties (VII); Entry into force and transitional provisions (VIII); Execution (IX).
