It provides a mechanism to streamline and consolidate processes for selected urban development projects initiated, facilitated, or undertaken by Kāinga Ora–Homes and Communities (referred to in this Act as Kāinga Ora); it provides powers for the acquisition, development, and disposal of land and provides additional powers, rights, and duties for the purpose of Kāinga Ora performing its urban development functions.
