Abstract This Regulation aims at achieving a high level of consumer protection. This Regulation sets forth provisions on the requirements, restrictions and conditions for the addition of vitamins and minerals, as well as scientific assessment, criteria of purity, labeling, promotion and advertising in Section II. Moreover provisions on other items which are prohibited, restricted or under investigation, requirements for inclusion of other items in the List, and scientific assessment are in Section III. This Regulation has been drafted in accordance with the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 307/2012 of 11 April 2012 establishing implementing rules for the application of Article 8 of Regulation (EC) No 1925/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the addition of vitamins and minerals and of certain other substances to foods.
