Abstract This Regulation establishes maximum levels of pesticide residues in or on food and feed of plant and animal origin to ensure a high level of consumer protection. This Regulation shall apply to products of plant and animal origin or parts thereof covered by Annex I to be used as fresh, processed and/or composite food or feed in or on which pesticide residues may be present. The products other than food such as plant propagation materials are not coved by this Regulation. It also defines the procedures and principles of implementation related to residue limits of pesticides. The Regulation further encloses provisions on sampling and analysis methods. This Regulation has been drafted in line with the Regulation (EC) No 396/2005 of the European Parliament and of the Council on maximum residue levels of pesticides in or on food and feed of plant and animal origin.
