The Committee shall consists of government officials and representatives of commercial tuna-fishing companies (sect. 3). The Committee may, at its own initiative or at request of the Minister, report to the Minister as to: (a) the total sustainable yield of tuna in offshore seas; (b) the proposed tuna catch levels in the offshore seas; (c) licensing of vessels and; (d) any other aspects of resources management relevant to the development and efficient operation of the Papua New Guinea tuna-fishing industry.
