Abstract

This Order applies article 8 of the Diseases of Animals (Jersey) Law 1956 to tuberculosis affecting cattle and swine. Article 8 empowers the Minister to order slaughtering of diseased animals. The Order also introduces other measures to control the disease including isolation or treatment of infected milk, a veterinary inquiry by the Minister and subsequent declaration of an infected place, restrictions on movement of animals and cleansing and disinfection.
