Abstract

This Order, made under the Animal Health Act 1981, introduces tuberculosis disease controls for deer, goats, pigs, sheep, alpacas, guanacos, llamas and vicuñas. It confers powers on the Scottish Ministers in relation to tuberculosis and provides for the approval of veterinary surgeons for the purposes of applying and reading a relevant test for tuberculosis. Positive or inconclusive test results shall be reported to the Scottish Ministers. Vaccination or treatment of animals for tuberculosis shall be prohibited without the consent of Scottish Ministers. Other measures concern, among other things, movement of animals and slaughter.
