Abstract

This Order the 1995 Order as follows: the introduction of a requirement to consult, in England, the Regional Development Agency before the grant of planning permission for certain categories of development (art. 3); the introduction of an additional exception to the requirement to consult before the grant of planning permission, for development which is not EIA development where a local planning authority considers that the development proposed is subject to any up to date standing advice issued by the relevant consultee in respect of a category of development. (art. 4). The introduction of a requirement for the local planning authority to provide a summary of the reasons for a grant of planning permission and a summary of the policies and proposals in the development plan which are relevant to the decision. (art. 5). An amendment altering the time limit for appeals from six to three months. (art. 6).
