Abstract

The purpose of the present Law is – implementing and completing the Federal Soil Protection Act of 17 March 1998 (BGBl. I p. 502) - to ensure and reinstate effectively the conditions and functions of the soil. The text consists of 14 articles as follows: Purpose of the Law (1); Duty to report and to give information (2); Right of passage, compensation (3); Completing provisions for harmful changes of the soil (4); Experts and research institutes (5); Information system concerning the quality of soil (6); Information system concerning contaminated sites (7); Special instructions (8); Authorities (9); Experts and inspection organs (10); Competencies (11); Balanced settlement (12); Penalties (13); Limitation of fundamental rights (14). Soil analysis shall be carried out also in case of water pollution.
