Abstract

These Regulations are organized in 10 Parts and 6 Schedules. Part 1 is an introduction. Part 2 concerns limits to the application of organic manure (application of livestock manure and total nitrogen limit for the whole holding, spreading organic manure and nitrogen limits per hectare). Part 3 sets crop requirements, these include planning of the spreading of nitrogen fertiliser, record keeping, the total allowed nitrogen spread on a holding, etc.). Part 4 provides discipline for controlling the spreading of nitrogen fertiliser such as risk maps, time of the year, limits on the spread of manufactured nitrogen fertilizer or organic manure near a water source ( surface water, boreholes, springs or wells). Part 5 concerns closed periods for spreading nitrogen fertiliser and the excemptions). Part 6 is on storage of organic manure, of silage and slurry. Part 7 provides regulation for calculations of holding and rules on record keeping. Part 8 Monitoring and review. Part 9 Enforcement, offences and penalties. Part 10 as miscellaneous contains revocations and consequential amendments
