Abstract

These Regulations, made under Section 38 of the Natural Resources Conservation Authority Act, provide for amending the Natural Resources (Marine Parks) Regulations, 1992. The amendments concern: adding and replacing of definitions, including: authorised officer; written permission of the Authority; marine park manager. Further amendments concern: permission to ride a horseback in a marine park and related penalties in case of contravention; creation of special fishery conservation area and fish sanctuary; consultation of various authorities prior to the formulation of the zoning plan; functions of the board, including making recommendations to the Authority on the preservation of the ecological system in marine parks, and advising the Authority on matters relating to the administration, control and preservation of the resources; determination of fines and fees payable in respect of permits.
