Abstract

This Act amends the National Biosafety Management Agency Act, no. 20 of 2015, in order to enlarge the scope of application of the Act, apply the emerging aspects of modern biotechnology and biosecurity, and prevent any adverse effect to human health and the environment. The amendments concern: insertion of new paragraphs concerning measures to ensure biosecurity; the definition and application of gene drive, gene editing and synthetic biology.
