Matters covered by these Regulations include: registration of growers associations, licensing of commercial miraa nursery operators and conditions upon release of a license, including: land suitable for propagating miraa seedlings; reliable irrigation quality water source; site accessible for inspections and collection of planting material; soil type of good drainage; adequate relevant knowledge of the applicant in nursery management; demarcated waste disposal area in the cultivation area; registration and licensing of commercial miraa transporters, of miraa vendors and of miraa importers and exporters; quality of planting materials; quality assurance for harvesting and post-harvesting handling of miraa; disposal of miraa considered unsafe for human health.
