Abstract

These Regulations, made in exercise of the powers conferred by section 40 of the Crops Act, no. 16 of 2013, provide for amending the Crops (Coffee) (General) Regulations of 2019. Amendments concern: introduction of new terms and replacement of others including: operating coffee house; direct settlement system; compliance certificate; grower miller; importer; management agent; the introduction of coffee industry standards, industry code of practice and other quality standards in the coffee industry; limitation on the use of mark for sale or export; modification concerning financial support to coffee miller-marketer; management of the auction; keeping of records; quantity, quality and traceability of coffee placed on the market.
