Abstract This Act, consisting of 3 Parts and one Schedule, provides that the territorial sea of New Zealand is the area of sea extending to 12 nautical miles from the baseline specified in the Act. It also provides that the area of sea extending from the outer limits of the territorial sea to a distance of 12 nautical miles is the contiguous zone of New Zealand.
