Abstract This Act, consisting of five Chapters, establishes the Bangladesh Tea Board. It establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned board, entitled to regulate, control and promote the cultivation and export of tea; to regulate and control the sale of tea; to improve the quality of tea; and to establish new tea gardens and acquire or rehabilitate tea gardens. In addition, the Act establishes penal provisions and provisions of miscellaneous nature. This Act is divided as follows: Introduction (Chap. 1); The Board (Chap. 2); Offences and penalties (Chap. 4); Miscellaneous (Chap. 5).
