The Act provides that the State Government shall set up hospital-pounds. The Act further states that when an animal is infected, the owner is required to give notice to the pound wherein the animal shall be examined and inspected. The pound keeper shall be responsible for treating the diseased animals. If the animals are not treatable, the pound keeper shall destroy and bury the diseased animal. The Act also mentions a penalty to be applied to the owners for failing to give notice when animal is attacked by diseases.
