Article 8 empowers the Minister to order slaughtering of diseased animals. Measures include a veterinary enquiry by the Minister, the declaration of an infected place by the Minister, isolation or detention of infected animals, restrictions on the movement of animals, cleansing and disinfection, disposal of carcasses of infected animals and the keeping of records by owners of boars.
