Emissions and removals of greenhouse gases are reported for the following sectors: energy industries; residential and commercial/institutional; industrial combustion; fugitive emissions; industrial processes and product use; transport; waste; agriculture; land use, land use change and forestry (LULUCF); and international transport. Adopted and planned policy measures and their impact on emissions are described. Further, the report contains projections for emissions in the different sectors up to 2045, with focus on 2020. According to these projections, emissions will continue to decrease, and the national target for 2020 is within reach with national measures alone. The biennial report also describes Sweden’s contributions to climate finance. The report has built on material obtained through extensive input from approximately ten government agencies, led by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency.
