Abstract These Specifications are developed for the purpose of implementing the Law of the People's Republic of China on Environmental Protection and the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Protection of Marine Environment, preventing and controlling marine environment pollution, improving eco environment quality of sea areas, and standardizing environmental monitoring of coastal sea areas across China. The Text stipulates such contents as the distribution of monitoring sites, the collection, storage, transportation, lab analysis and quality assurance of monitoring samples in coastal sea areas as well as the general requirement for the development of monitoring program and monitoring report. Emergency monitoring and scientific monitoring of coastal marine environment may also refer to these Specifications.
