Abstract The present Ordinance implements Directive 2004/42/CE of the European Parliament and of the Council on the same subject. Its purpose is to limit the total content of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in certain paints and varnishes and vehicle refinishing products with a view to preventing or reducing air pollution which results from the contribution of VOCs to the formation of tropospheric ozone. Annex I lists out the products which fall within the scope of these provisions. When they are placed on the market,they shall carry a label containing the information specified by article 4.The text consists of 6 articles and 3 Annexes.
