"Enterprise" includes a co-operative society. The Authority is established as a body corporate and its objects include the development and empowerment of SME's. The Authority shall, among other things: implement and operate a registration scheme for SMEs; provide core support services, particularly entrepreneurship development, business facilitation, counselling and mentoring services; empower product specific and sector specific SMEs to enhance their delivery capabilities. The Authority shall be administered by a Board which shall be known as the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Board.
