Abstract

These Regulations, made under section 20 of the Sisal Industry Act, implement provisions of the Act with respect to, among other things: registration by the Tanzania Sisal Board of sisal growers, traders, manufacturers and processors of sisal; observation by a sisal grower of recommended practices of good crop husbandry as prescribed under the First Schedule to these Regulations; issuing of licences by the Board; quality control of sisal; rules for contract farming; rules for marketing and sales of cotton; rules for the annual stakeholders meeting composed of key stakeholders from the sisal industry; and administrative matters regarding the Board.
